Topsham - The Art Room - Roger and Margaret Dean
Margaret and Roger Dean with their first joint exhibition of work since the 60s running from 4th February - 4th March.
Margaret and Roger Dean have been professional artists and educators for over five decades. They met in 1957 at Liverpool College of Art, an exciting time, their fellow students were John Lennon, Stuart Sutcliffe (5th Beatle) and Mike Kenny (Head of Sculpture Goldsmiths). They moved to Exeter in 1971 where Roger became Head of Sculpture at Exeter College of Art and Design and Margaret taught on the First Year Course. Roger left teaching in 1987 and dedicated the next 23 years to public art commissions, his most recent is a life size bronze Marine for the Memorial Garden at 42 Commando Unit of the Royal Marines, Plymouth. This exhibition will show work from the past alongside the new, bronze and resin sculptures from Roger and oil Life Studies from Margaret.
