St Winifred's Church Branscombe (c) Phillip Capper

An inaugural music festival in the picturesque village of Branscombe in East Devon, near to Seaton.

This summer, stars of the world stage come to Branscombe village in Devon for a brand new music festival starring some of the most critically-acclaimed international classical and jazz musicians.

Presented by local resident Ian Rosenblatt (founder of London’s only international opera recital series, Rosenblatt Recitals), Branscombe Festival enables audiences to experience leading international musicians in an intimate, idyllic countryside setting.

For three days during the summer, the picturesque Branscombe village will play host to top opera singers and instrumentalists, as they perform in the village hall and church – culminating in a free concert on Branscombe beach.
Branscombe Festival is hosted by BBC Radio 3 broadcaster and journalist Petroc Trelawny and performers include: stars of the Metropolitan Opera and the Royal Opera House lyric soprano Ailyn Pérez and tenor Stephen Costello in a rare recital with pianist Iain Burnside; the Carducci Quartet, one of the most successful string quartets of their generation, with a stunning evening of French and British music; and rising young cellist Philip Higham who presents a solo programme of the music of J.S. Bach and Benjamin Britten.

In addition, celebrated jazz ensemble The Leo Green Experience gives a late-night jazz gig, plus Devon favourite Trelights Brass Quintet performs a free beachfront concert to round off the festivities.
