Seaton - Branscombe Festival
After the success of the last two festivals, the stunning Devonshire village of Branscombe will play host to the third Branscombe Festival from Friday 24th to Sunday 26th July.
Over three days the Branscombe Festival will present performances from leading classical and jazz musicians. Stars of the international opera stage are set to make an appearance at the festival, including Italian tenor Francesco Meli, Californian soprano Angel Blue, and the world's most sought-after British dramatic soprano, Susan Bullock.
Dance band The Leo Green Experience will perform with soul singer Danny Toeman, and there will be appearances from the Sacconi Quartet and 4-MALITY, one of the world's most compelling and innovative percussion quartets. The festival will conclude with a free concert on Branscombe Beach by The Band of Her Majesty’s Royal Marines.
As usual the Band of the Royal Marines will perform on the final day of the Festival, culminating in a free concert at 1:30pm on Branscombe beach. They will march down to the beach from St Winifred's Church in the morning, where audience members will have access to a beer tent and can sit back, relax and enjoy the music. From each ticket sold, 50p will be donated to St Winifreds Church.
The inaugural Branscombe Festival was launched in 2013 by Ian Rosenblatt, who is also the founder and sponsor of the Rosenblatt Recitals, London’s only world-class series of opera recitals based at Wigmore Hall.
Ian Rosenblatt says: “I am delighted to announce the programme for Branscombe Festival, now in its third year. We have a stunning array of musicians and singers involved, from singers Susan Bullock and Francesca Meli to the return of the Leo Green Experience, and I can’t wait to welcome them all to the beautiful village of Branscombe.
We hope that people from near and far will enjoy everything that the Festival and the surrounding area has to offer.”
