A summer evening of high class entertainment and the chance to meet a celebrity in the grounds of the Parish Church in the beautiful East Devon village of Farringdon.

The Farringdon Society of ARTS celebrates its sixth birthday with a special fundraising French-styled Garden Party. Join special guest actress and author Carol Drinkwater, who will be signing copies and reading extracts from her new book 'Return to the Olive Farm'. The event will take place in a specially created Olive Grove created by Peter Belton of East of Eden Plants.

Bring your own picnic and sit on the grass in the traditional way. Alternatively tables for 6 people with chairs and cutlery can be made available for you for your picnic and set up for you on arrival. To secure a table booking needs to be made in advance and is essential. Call 01395 239181.

Wine and canapes on arrival and entertainment for the evening provided by a music trio who will be jazzing things up - Projet Brassens style.

The trio featuring Maxine Green on vocals and guitar, Mike Thorn on double bass (a player with Charles Aznavour for many years) and Charlie Hearnshaw on clarinet and basset clarinet. will perform a selection of chansons, various French singer songwriters including Jacques Brel, Edith Piaf, Jean Lenoirand and last but not least Georges Brassens. The set will also include some of Maxine's own compositions in French as well as some jazz with a French flavour and classic French instrumental musettes and waltzes.
