A must for all music enthusiasts, this year’s Analogue to Digital Music Expo takes place on Sat 21 Apr at Exeter Phoenix.

Now on it’s 4th year and attracting over 800 people in one day, this unique music industry event is packed with workshops, hands-on demos, performances, Q&As, music industry panels and studio surgeries featuring some of the industry's leading experts in music production and synthesis, guest speakers and renowned producers and musicians.

On the day you can try out the latest technology in music recording, production and performance, including guitar and bass technology, drums and soft synths and most importantly speak to the experts about how to get the most out of this amazing equipment. The show spreads over 4 zones, including a live auditorium, media centre, workshop areas and a professional recording studio. The day culminates into the legendary prize draw of £6,000+ worth of music software and hardware!

This boutique event showcases cutting-edge music software, hardware and instruments used in music creation, production and performance, from the likes of AVID (Pro-Tools), Time + Space, Native Instruments, Quested Monitors, TfPro, Shure, Yamaha, alongside smaller, quirkier companies: Reactable from Barcelona, Soundbeam, Eigenlabs, Analogue Systems and Skoog!

Music industry panels run throughout the day with music legends, producer John Leckie (Stone Roses, Radiohead, MUSE), Paul Gray (Musicians Union, ex-Damned) and mastering legend Simon Heyworth, who share their personal experiences with those who wish to pursue a career in the music industry. Paul White and Hugh Robjohns from Sound On Sound magazine (our official media sponsors) give technical advice and guidance to musicians, sound engineers and producers.

We are also pleased to welcome keyboard/synthesiser player and programmer Richard Barbieri (Japan, Porcupine Tree) and Roger O’Donnell (The Cure, Psychedelic Furs).

A2D is organised and hosted by Sound Gallery CIC, a social enterprise which aims to provide opportunities in the music industry for young people, especially those who are socially or financially disadvantaged and are at risk of social exclusion. Sound Gallery CIC run Sound Gallery Studios, a professional recording studio dedicated to artist development, music production, education and the promotion of high quality artistic work.
