Budleigh Salterton Literary Festival

The Budleigh Salterton Literary Festival has been astonishingly successful in attracting acclaimed writers to the weekend event. "Words by the Sea" speaks for itself with a rich mix of different authors, all of whom have that rare ability to interest, entertain and excite.

The Budleigh Salterton Literary Festival is a registered charity (1127885) and company limited by guarantee (6758203). The Festival's object is the advancement of education for the benefit of the public in East Devon by the promotion of the arts of literature, poetry, the written word and related arts and, in particular, fostering and supporting the work of the Budleigh Salterton Literary Festival. We also endeavour to involve local schools where we can and offer a diverse programme of events. Our ethos is very much about: celebrating great literature – supporting and showcasing new talent – promoting reading and writing – provoking new thinking – engaging and entertaining the whole community.
