Crediton Parish Church

The parish of Crediton centres around the Church of the Holy Cross, a church with a history of at least 1100 years. It can be traced continuously in written records back to the early tenth century, and if an eleventh century copy of a charter of 739AD is accepted as authentic, to almost two centuries earlier.

The church is generally open all daylight hours, summer and winter.

On Saturdays in the mornings, guides are generally available.

There is no charge for church tours, but a donation to church funds is requested. We suggest a donation of £2 per head.

For solo tours there is a visual display in the north choir aisle. This gives a photographic overview of the history of the church and its buildings. A walk-around guide, available on entry, coupled with the ground-plan will enable the visitor to readily identify features.
