Spirit of the Exe - Exe Estuary Festival

Make your own bird puppet, play in a junk band or enjoy live music – it is all free at this summer’s EXE-TRAVAGANZA

Everybody is invited to an Exe-travaganza on Saturday 10th July at Dawlish Warren. Spirit of the Exe is a free festival event for all the family with live music from the Quails, junk band workshops, creative activities for all ages, Mad Science, stalls, face painting, stilt walkers and much much more.

The Exe Estuary is a fantastic place; it is a globally important site for wildlife, a hub of activities for people to enjoy their leisure time, and a place of beauty and pride for local communities. The Exe Estuary Management Partnership would like to celebrate the wonderful Exe Estuary with you at Spirit of the Exe on Saturday 10th July 2010 at Dawlish Warren.

Organiser Jenny Lockett, Exe Estuary Officer, said,” The festival will be a showcase for the clubs, organisations and businesses that are part of the life and vibrancy of this very special place. We still have a few spaces left for interested organisations and clubs so please get in contact if you would like to attend with a stand about your organisation (01392 382238 / exeestua@devon.gov.uk).

The event starts at 11am at Dawlish Warren. Fun and frolics are guaranteed so come along, get involved and learn about the Exe at the same time.

Dawlish Warren train station provides fantastic access to the festival and is just 400m from the event. Bus service 2, which travels between Exeter and Newton Abbot can be caught at various stops along its route to Dawlish Warren with buses every 15 minutes and it stops just a short 2 minute stroll from the event.
Show your train or bus ticket at the event and you will be entered into a free draw to win prizes including a 2 course meal for 2 at Cofton Swan, 2 adult tickets to Powderham Castle or a clay pigeon shooting experience. For those travelling by car there is a Pay and display car park available at Dawlish Warren.
