Budleigh Salterton Festival

The music festival presents a programme with international artists in July this year. There are so many highlights: the famous King's Singers, Verdi's opera La Traviata, 2 orchestral concerts and the London Adventist Chorale. There are the combined 120 voices of 2 full male choirs followed a few days later by acclaimed guitarist Craig Ogden with Judith Hall. The French pianist Pascale Rogé gives a recital and plays duets with Ami Rogé and we welcome the Chilingirian Quartet who will perform a varied programme including Beethoven's Opus 130. During the festival there will be 2 orchestral concerts; the first, including 2 Mozart Concerti is followed at the end of the week by Orchestra, Chorus, the Devon Junior Choir and James Gilchrist in a perfomance of Britten's St. Nicolas Mass.

Starting with the new Science one-day conference on 5 February, the Jazz weekend in April and finally the Music Festival at the end of July this will be a festival year to remember!.

Science is on everyone's lips these days and the hot topic of the moment is Global Warming. So on 5 February we have organised a conference with a slate of excellent speakers describing the evidence for global warming and climate change.

In April we have the Jazz Weekend at the comfortable Games Club in the town. Digby Fairweather with Craig Milverton, Maggie Reeday and the SouthWest Allstars provide the entertainment over three days.
