The Ilsington Country House Hotel is a family owned and run hotel situated in 10 acres of its own land inside the boundaries of the Dartmoor National Park within sight of the spectacular Haytor rocks. The hotel prides itself on its relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff and award winning cuisine (the AA have awarded the hotel two rosettes for food).
In 2006 a brand new restaurant was built giving fantastic views through large picture windows over the moors and towards Haytor rocks. This bright air-conditioned restaurant can seat up to 80 people in comfort and has specially commissioned artwork on the walls.
We offer a range of bedrooms including family rooms and suites. All individually furnished and all with moorland views. The AA recently awarded us a quality percentage score of 85% putting us amongst the top 3 star hotels in Devon and Cornwall.
Guests can walk out from the hotel to join footpaths and bridleways leading onto the moor or just put their feet up with a Devon cream tea in our lounge or gardens. The indoor heated swimming pool with sauna, spa pool, steam room and gymnasium is free to guests and provides the perfect place for relaxing or working off some of the excesses of the dining room. The hotel is centrally situated for exploring the south Devon coast, Dartmoor, and Cornwall and the Eden Project are only an hour or so away.
