Group Visits
A changing calendar of colourful events, great Devon food, a good choice of accommodation for groups, visitor attractions for all ages and ample coach parking - why not come to the Heart of Devon for your next group visit!
With so much to see and do whatever your interests, the Heart of Devon is a great destination for a day trip or longer visit. Whether your group is interested in shopping, heritage and culture, the outdoors, or food and drink, we have it all!
Exeter is the regional capital for culture, leisure and shopping. With over 2000 years of history, there are some fascinating attractions, including the magnificent Exeter Cathedral and the unique Underground Passages. Historically a major port, the city's quayside area is now focused towards leisure, with a number of cafes and restaurants where your group can relax and maybe enjoy a traditional cream tea!
Outside of the city, there are many attractions which welcome groups. If you are interested in heritage, head to one of the area's historic castles or houses, such as Fursdon House near Exeter, Tiverton Castle in Mid Devon, Okehampton Castle to the west, Powderham Castle in South Devon. The area is also home to some of the National Trust's finest properties.
Group discounts and coach driver incentives are available at most attractions - view a copy of the Exeter & Essential Devon Group Organisers Guide below to find out more.
For nature lovers and those who like being outdoors, East Devon and Mid Devon have some beautiful countryside and scenic towns. Visit attractions such as the Donkey Sanctuary, Escot or Peak Hill Llamas to meet friendly local animals, take a guided tour of the botanical gardens at the University of Exeter, or if you are looking for adrenalin-fuelled fun, there are some great outdoor pursuits to enjoy in the Heart of Devon, such as Yarak Birds of Prey, where you can learn more about beautiful Birds of Prey and have a go at Falconry.
The Heart of Devon's location in south west England, with miles of lush pastures and sparkling coast, is ideal for harvesting produce, so there is a great choice for eating out. Head to the Jurassic Coast for fresh seafood, or visit one of the region's thriving farmers markets for local tastes direct from the producers.
The area's warm climate also supports several vineyards, such as Yearlstone Vineyard in Mid Devon, of which your group can take a guided tour before sampling the delicious wines. Or you may like to join one of the food courses at River Cottage near Axminster.
The Heart of Devon hosts some of the region's major events, such as the Devon County Show, Holiday on Ice, Escot's Beautiful Days Festival and the Exeter Festival of South West Food and Drink.
