The Queen celebrates 60 years as Monarch in 2012. To celebrate tDiamond Jubilee Emblemhis Diamond Jubilee there will be an extra bank holiday this year on Tuesday 5 June, creating a 4 day long weekend to enjoy! The Heart of Devon will be making the most of this extra holiday, with plenty of events and activities planned from Saturday 2 - Tuesday 5 June.

Bring your rugs and flags and have a lovely summer evening with the family at Killerton on 4 June, for Last Night of the Proms. Killerton will also be hosting a Jubilee Garden Party with jazz on the 5 June. RHS Garden Rosemoor will be celebrating with a Jubilee Tea Party on 5 June.

Powderham Castle are planning a whole week of celebrations themed around Kings & Queens from 2 - 8 June.

Topsham Food FestivalDevon is renowned for its excellent local food & drink, so why not celebrate the Jubilee at one of the many foodie events in Devon.

Topsham will be hosting its annual Food Festival over the weekend of 1 - 3 June, with one of the highlights being Nello's Longest Table, an evening celebration of food and community.

Next head to the Dartington Food Fair, from 3 - 5 June, with food stalls, cider marquee, music and lots of family activities!

Dawlish Air ShowDawlish will be hosting a whole week of activities, starting on 3 June, with a Party in the Park on 4 June, a Jubilee Picnic on 5 June and a Grand Jubilee Party on 9 June! This week will also include one of the biggest days in Dawlish's calendar - the Dawlish Air Show on 8 June.

The Exmouth Festival takes place over the week, with lots going on, from barbershop to rock, graffiti to watercolours, classical concerts to open mic, poetry to comedy. In fact something for everyone, with lots of free events. Ashburton will also be holding their annual Blues Festival from 1 - 3 June.

To celebrate the Jubilee, Exeter's Rougemont Hotel are hosting a Diamond Jubilee themed vintage fair - Crikey Queenie It's Vintage on 2 June, or head to St Loyes on 1 June to enjoy a Jubilee Cream Tea!

Exeter's Historic Quayside will be holding a Jubilee Street Party on Tuesday 5 June, with lots of outdoor entertianment and food and drink.

Thousands of beacons will be lit around the world to celebrate the Jubilee from 10pm on Monday 4 June. The Queen will light the last of the beacons in London at 10:30pm.

Events in Devon will include a beacon lighting celebration in Kenton, near Exeter, organised by local residents and Powderham Castle. A beacon will be lit at the Powderham Belvedere, a tower in the grounds of the castle. This will be followed by a hog roast, fireworks, and a torchlit procession back to the village.
