Whether you are a keen cyclist or just a beginner, the Heart of Devon has many safe, off-road cycling trails for all abilities. Cycle beside the Exe Estuary, go mountain biking at Haldon Forest Park, or tackle the hills of Mid Devon and Dartmoor.
Cycling is a great way to explore the city and countryside and if you don't have your own bicycle there are plenty of cycle hire companies in the area to offer advice on where to cycle and bicycles for all ages and abilities.

With nearly 40 miles of coastline in the Heart of Devon, there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy life on the water, from leisurely boat trips to high adrenalin kite surfing or water skiing.

The Heart of Devon's acres of farmland are criss-crossed with bridleways to enjoy the countryside from horseback. Saddle up and enjoy the fresh air of Dartmoor National Park, which has several stables which will take you on a trek across the moors.
Head to Haldon Forest Park for bridlepaths through the forest including an excellent gallop alongside Exeter Racecourse!

The Heart of Devon's many lakes and rivers offer some of the best fishing in the country. Fish for Rainbow trout in the stillwater fisheries, or wild brown trout and salmon on the River Exe.
